University facilities for international students in the UK

Aside from the academic support, UK universities also provide facilities that will help you meet your educational and social needs, as well as your needs in the other areas of your life in the university. Although their offers vary, we can find some common university facilities. Here are the facilities that most universities usually provide for international students.

Accommodation Student accommodation is available for international students both on and off campus. Their accommodations include university owned halls of residence and private sector housing and lodgings. Though accommodations are usually furnished, there may be other items they will not provide so make sure you bring other personal and household items not on their list. They usually provide students internet access and a laundry facility in their halls of residence. The accommodation is not guaranteed but most universities give priority to international students to secure it. You just have to confirm your reservation as soon as possible. They provide areas or prayer rooms for international students who want to experience peace and talk with other students as well. These are also available for meditation, prayer, and other spiritual activities. They have available university chaplains from different sectors to provide pastoral, emotional and spiritual support.

Gym/Sports Facilities Some universities also have gym and other sports facilities provided for students. Their gym comes with a membership fee and with qualified instructors to help you with your exercise routine and in using their modern equipment. They also have sports facilities such as courts which you can use either for recreation or playing.
